The finance department is one of the key departments in the County Assembly with the primary function to promote good financial management at the county assembly and to provide an excellent level of service to the other departments. This would in turn facilitate effective and efficient use of resources in achieving the mandate of the county assembly to the Laikipia county populace and Kenyans at large.

The roles are broadly in the areas of General accounting-Book keeping , Management and control, Compliance, budgeting and technical support to the legislative process.
